Pan Outreach Presents

An incredible and FREE experience in world music! Participants will explore and learn the steel drum (pan) instrument, meet new people, and prepare for a performance with two professional steel bands and world-renowned pannist Gary Gibson!

Monday through Friday, rehearsals will be held at Hopewell Music in Minneapolis. Participants will be split into three age groups with lunch provided. Grades 4-7 will attend 9 am–11:30 am with lunch provided. Grades 8-11 will attend from 12 pm–3 pm with lunch provided. The Adult Ensemble will meet from 6 pm–8 pm. On Saturday, August 5th, participants will arrive at Como pavilion in St. Paul at 3:30 pm for a master class by Gary Gibson. Enjoy dinner, a free t-shirt, and a concert featuring Gary Gibson performing with all participants and two professional steel bands!

Transportation to Hopewell and Como can be arranged as needed. All of this and more is being provided AT NO COST to participants.

All events are chaperoned by staff and volunteers. All music rehearsals will be run by Pan Outreach educators. Staff/educator to participant ratio will be 6:1 for grades 4 - 7 and 8:1 for grades 8 - 11. Each ensemble will be limited to 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
