Deondre has been involved in the marching arts since 2007 in performing, instructional and design roles, particularly in the drum corps and indoor drumline activities. Deondre has performed with ensembles such as Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps, Minnesota Brass Drum and Bugle Corps, the Govenaires, River City Rhythm indoor drumline, and The Ohio State University Marching Band. He has taught and designed for a number of ensembles across the Midwest, South, and East Coast. He has been involved with Chops since 2016, working with the organization’s drum corps and indoor drumline; he has also led Chops’ current efforts to re-establish the indoor drumline.
Deondre holds a PhD in Geography from The Ohio State University, where he is currently a President's Postdoctoral Scholar, a Master’s degree in Global Indigenous Studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from St. Cloud State University. Deondre originally hails from Minneapolis, but currently lives and works in Columbus, Ohio.
